Together in Tech is a non-profit organisation and community that’s focused on making the world (and the world of tech) a more connected, empathetic place. Since launching in London in 2019, our community has grown to over 6000 members and is now expanding internationally.
Our unique culture champions courage, determination and collaboration. Knowing we have an open and supportive team means each of us has the freedom to take responsibility and ownership. We believe that when we work together, anything is possible.
Together in Tech aims to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported and empowered. We believe this creates a foundation for real connection and serendipity. We support our members with everything from practical skills workshops to inspirational talks, mentorship and access to job opportunities.
We are a team of 20 volunteers working towards achieving the aims outlined above. Some of the programmes and events we have in the pipeline for this year are: creating a series of events for university students, launching a podcast, opening new chapters internationally, launching our own mentorship program.
About the role
In our internship program, interns will become an integral member of our team and have the opportunity to own specific business building projects that address current organisation needs. Interns will gain firsthand experience in areas such as business development, innovation, market analysis, market research, and event management.
We are looking for a bright, driven and adaptable intern to support our founder. We require at least 10 hours per week for 6 months. This position is unpaid; currently this is a volunteer run organisation.
Responsibilities
At the heart of the Operations team, you will be working alongside the CEO helping with::
Events Management:
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to bring the events to life
Working closely with sales and marketing to ensure the events are a commercial success
Research and recommend innovative and impactful themes and speakers.
Project Management: coordinating work done by our volunteers; planning what work needs to be done, when and who’s going to do it, making sure the projects are running on time, dealing with changes to the project as and when necessary;
Execute critical path projects in which the CEO and project leaders are especially interested and/or for which their awareness and involvement is essential
Be prepared to apprise the CEO and the project leaders of project status and variations from schedule or scope
What this internship will bring you?

You will receive coaching and mentorship from our CEO along with a series of coaching sessions throughout your internship
You will be at the heart of the business and be in contact with different teams on the day to day
You will have the opportunity to learn by working alongside some exceptional professionals from companies such as PwC, Freetrade, Google and others
You will also participate in a variety of activities to promote teamwork, social responsibility, and the development of both technical and interpersonal skills.

Education & Experience
Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills; a clear communicator who is comfortable working with a wide range of people
A self-starter with strong organisational skills, who has the ability to work on multiple projects and assignments with minimal supervision and is able to take the lead on projects from A to Z
Able to excel in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly
Passionate about technology and making a positive impact to the world
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, and a willingness to help their team reach its goals
Key Competencies/Technical Skills
Educated to Bachelors’ Degree level
Fluent in English
Strong organisational skills
Strong attention to detail

Additional Information
We cannot provide sponsorship for this position so in order to be considered, candidates will need to have the right to work in the UK
We hope to be able to offer at least some of the internship in person this year- although this will be dependent on the ongoing pandemic and each country's individual guidelines and restrictions.
