Equal parts dance parties and deep conversations

We are Together, a very human tech community

ListeningtoMusic.png

We host workshops, meetups, talks, and other events (yes, including dance parties) — all to help you find your way through the muddle that is life and work.

All the soft skills, emotional intelligence and inner work you need to make it through life.

Things like: asking for what you deserve (in a way that helps you get it), finding meaning in your work, finding the motivation to actually do the work, handling conflict with grace, and trying to find a sense of work/life balance (as if work and life were two different things).

This is the community we wished existed.

So we built it.

Together in tech was born from the desire to create a tech community that looks like the world we want to live in — diverse and hopeful and empathetic and kind.

It’s all about giving people a place to connect.

With themselves.

With each other.

With their dreams and hopes and everything — everything — they need to create the lives/careers/businesses/world of their dreams.

Our home base is in London, UK, but we host online events you can access from anywhere.

Once we can host in-person events again we’ll have events online, as well as in London and other cities including Berlin, Amsterdam and Athens.

Want to host a Together event where you are? Contact us.

Since launching in 2019 we’ve created a community of 5000+ empathetic, curious humans.

Together in tech is open to anyone who wants to connect — with themselves and with their people. If you’re wondering if this includes you, the answer is yes. Even if you’re not sure you’re even “in tech.”

Joining together is very, very easy.

Yota Trom, Founder

Yota Trom (she/her) is Together in tech’s founder. She believes that in order to create a better planet to live in, we need to begin with loving and accepting ourselves. Together in Tech was born with the hope of creating a support network where people in Tech can find themselves and become who they always wanted to be.

Yota has worked in tech for over 15 years, leading teams at Amazon and Yahoo before getting her MSc in Applied Positive Psychology & Coaching. Her pioneering research and resultant publications explore the intersection of coaching and positive psychology. As a UN Women UK Delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, Yota is a powerful advocate for gender diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.

Her mission to help people in tech unlock their inner confidence and become inspiring leaders has brought her to work with some of Europe's biggest tech companies, including Sky, Booking.com, Delivery Hero, Amazon, and Google. Yota holds an advisory role to the board of UCL School of Management, contributing her expertise to further education and leadership development.

There is only one thing that outweighs Yota’s love for tech and impact, and that’s her daughter Arianna, who came to the world in September 2020. Yota is originally Greek so sunshine and the sea are her two favourite things in the world! You can find her on LinkedIn and at yotatrom.com.

“In a city full of meetups, this one stands out. Why? Because it focused on solutions, not problems. It began building a community of people who strive to make tech better for everyone. It was a group full of optimism, hope, and an attitude of rolling one's sleeves up to get the work done.”
